Lady Gaga’s triumphant halftime performance

Lady Gaga gave America something that it needed, a performance promoting unity.  While drones lit up the sky, the Grammy winning powerhouse began her performance on top of the NRG stadium singing “God Bless America” and “This Land is Our Land”.  According to CNN.com, Gaga “concluded her emotional intro by quoting from the Pledge of Allegiance: “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,” with a clear emphasis on the “for all” part.”  After her emotional start, Gaga leaped into the stadium and performed her many chart topping hits.  These hits included “Just Dance”, “Poker Face”, “Telephone”, and “Bad Romance”.  She also promoted diversity through the selection of her multi-ethnic back up dancers.  All of this to say, Gaga did not disappoint and gave the country a much needed pick-me-up.
