Already a very influential makeup artist and beauty vlogger, Nura Afia took a huge career step when she signed on with CoverGirl and became the brand’s first woman to appear in their advertising wearing a hijab. “I never thought I would see Muslim women represented on such a large scale,” she told Glamour.com.

She’ll be a member of the #LashEquality campaign at CoverGirl, which will also be helping promote the launch of So Lashy! Blast Pro Mascara that is designed for all lash types. She appears alongside Sofia Vergara and Katy Perry in CoverGirl’s #LashEquality advertising.
