New Zealand Has Organized a Country-wide Secret Santa, and It's Pretty Incredible
NOV 30, 2016
The country-wide secret santa began in 2010 and was organized by Sam Elton-Walters. Today, it's run by the New Zealand Post, but the idea has stayed the same. Those who sign up get matched with a random participant on Twitter. Presents are then sent to the New Zealand Post, which forwards them to the recipients.
The program has become extremely popular, with almost 2,000 people already signed up this year. Of course, since purchasing a gift for a complete stranger can be difficult, most participants do a little lurking on Twitter for gift ideas.
